The Best of The Instablogs Criticism

CartoonWe heard so much this past week, we got breathless ourselves. Now we know what means to be the center of attention. To celebrate, we present a collectors’ edition sampling of what the world does to you if you start out new and small.

1.) Hart says,”Still nothing? Maybe there should be a name change to ... (dum de dahhm)
SoonerOrLaterBlogs.com ...

2.) Darren at Problogger did a great constructive analysis of our launch.

3.) The Blognetworknews says that,”Instablogs is now realizing just how cruel a mistress the blogosphere can be if you rub her the wrong way.”

5.) Blognetworkwatch said,”Instablogs caused a small buzz with it’s unique way of approaching it’s launch with cartoons and reverse order commenting. It stated that it was going to start with 50 blogs from day one...Extremely disappointed in this “non” launch. They might as well not even bother to launch because they have done too much harm to whatever branding they had built up over such a short time.”

6.) Lyndon said, I think the idea of a 50 blog network is kinda fun in an insane way. I picture the dude with three computers and a two litre bottle of Dr Pepper, rocking away until the wee hours.

7.) Martin Fenton said, “An organized way to present the un solicited opinion. Sound interesting and fun..”

8.) Debashish says,”I hope you also focus on Indic blogging (blogging using Indian language).

9.) Sudhir Mittal said, “I was following Instablogs from the first day, intially I thought it to be an Indian blog network with subjects covering India, but I felt disappointed to know that you haven`t mentioned even a single India realted subject.”

10.) Mike had said, “Your logo looks a lot like the Agencia logo. Coincidence?.”

11.) David said a great thing, “Reverse Order Blog Network - I think you have chosen a wrong name Instablogs, you should be called ROBN(Reverse Order Blog Network) .
You have eveything in reverse order

1. Your comments are in reverse order.
2. People provide RSS for posts, you are doing it for ONLY comments.
3. You are counting days in reverse order. Your latest post should be Day 7, but its Day 5.
4. People concentrate on content, you do on cartoons, making parodies.
But on the other hand, the subjects you are planning to cover is fascinating, especially the blog about ‘children from third world’.”

12.) Businesslogs analyzed our branding strategy, including the logo.

13.) Elliot Back told us our script was old-fashioned.

14.) Deep said I personally feel it is just the hype, and the blog according to me looks like another attempt to try luck at SEO and generate some revenue using ads...

And what I feel is, this will be like getting RSS feeds for 100s of sites and getting few people to write on the same thing...

15.) Kim cheered us on. He says, “I think people have to consider that this is not a big corporation launching this blog network, but a young woman (and her new husband) from India. I think people really should respect that and give her the credit she really deserves.”

The List goes on..... You can find a small sample at Comments - Pre launch days

Lovely...
I hope this blog becomes exactly opposite of what I had thought of..(or may be still thinking)

Good Luck
Deep
The criticism has nothing to do with you guys starting small. It has to do with promising big, not starting on time, and then starting small when you said itd be big.

Best of luck overcoming this hump, though. Everyone gets their lumps, you just got yours earlier than most :)

Instablog is a good medium to communicate.Friends! Why not to use this global medium to speak about many social flaws.Ironically we all try to write alot on political follies but use this thinking process for some good purpose. For example, sanitation is a big problem in most of themetros or urbane cities. How many complain about stinking wash rooms or inadequate wash rooms. How many use power of net to speak against impolite and rude language around us. How many oppose rough treatment meted out to weak.Remember instablog is all about empowering the neglected not about page3 culture
